my alarm used to beep when i locked my car but it doesn't anymore. i know it can go into silent mode, but it shouldn't be stuck in it all the time. the manual also says that the red LED should blink and mine stays on all the time. The car had a viper alarm installed by the previous owner so i don't know much about it. i read the manual at directed.com but it didn't solve my problem, could someone help me?

your alarm is in valet mode. that is what the constantly lit led means. depending on how old the alarm is, this should solve your problem: open the door, on the remote hit lock, unlock and lock again. the led sould turn off. if this doesn't work, let me know what model alarm you have if you can figure it out.
