240sx speaker sizes....

1989-1993 Fastback
Front- 4x6
Rear- 4x6

1989-1993 Coupe/1994 Convertible
Front- 4x6
Rear- 6.5

1995-1998 Zenki/Kouki
Front- 6.5
Rear- 6.5

These are the stock sizes of the speakers in the 240sx. There are ways to fit bigger speakers into the cars however. Heres a link on how to put bigger speakers in the doors of an s13. For the rear (at least in hatches), if you have a dremel or something similar, you can mount larger speakers in the hatch cover, like this:

I still have my '90 240sx, Tara is a really good friend of mine who passed away in Jan.

The intake is an OBX short ram intake, I didn't use the OBX filter though, I had a K&N on there before and stuck with that

heres the pic for the hatch cover, easy to do:

**edit: Ok, basically here is what you will need to do to fit bigger speakers in the front of the s13**

Step by step front 6.5" setup:

1. Take off your door panel.
2. There should be a black plastic enclosure in which the stock 4x6 fits, remove it.
3. In 1/4" plywood (or whichever material you use) trace that enclosure with drill holes AND speaker hole.
4. Cut the speaker hole and plywood.
5. Replace the black plastic enclosure with the plywood part you just created.
6. Connect and mount you 6.5" speaker on the plywood.
7. Turn on your radio to check if the speaker works properly.
8. Make sure window still functions properly and is not hitting the speaker or wires
9. Pop door panel back into place.

should look something like this when done:

S14 Note

FWIW, the S14 speaker sizes are technically 6.75" or "oversize" 6-1/2's

Certain brands of 6-1/2 will work, but the best fit is with 6-3/4

I just did custom 6x9's in the side panel of my s13. I can get pics in a few days (I'll be out of town until Tuesday) if anybody wants them. They sound so nice where I have them. Great bass.

haha, when I did that I used a drill and a handsaw, took forever to do it that way and make it look decent. I'm gonna do it again but this time using a dremel which should make it a hell of alot easier.
