I would use ABS plastic to make the plate. End result will probably be a little better, and hold up better. You should be able to buy 12"x12" sheets at any car audio place. However, I'm sure wood will work as well. Just my thoughts, Harley

plywood or plexi(spelling) glass.. i used plexi glass and i liked it holds strong a bit hard to work with since it does break easily i love it since it works well holds well and pushes the speaker out far enough 1/4 inch of course.

There is the 6x9's, As for the amp dude, I have my power line connected securly to my battery, ran through the car fine, My relay is wired to the deck properly, my RCA's are fine, and my ground is good, The fuses are good, I can get power to it, But when I wire up even ONE speaker and try to run it, the amp dies. :S I dont know whats going on lol

are you running a Visonik amp? If so these amps are known to fail.-also check to see if the amp will run on a low pass or full pass.- it could be your high pass filter?

also see if there is a safety or protection mode- bad wiring or overloading the amp might cause it to trip
