Rycegirl, dont mix the sizes, Cause say you put in 2 10"s and on 12's well that 12 is only going to do as good as the 10 can handle. It is a waste of money. I'm just gonna put one 10" JBL GTO(1220D). Cause it saves money and sounds and alot of tha time hits just as hard as 2 12's and saves room. You need do get a right amp to power the sub. I mean u could send $500 on one W7 sub but get a amp that can't power it right and end up only gettin how ever watts that amp can handle. I know a guy that has one 10" but a badA$$ amp and it hits harder then 2 12" subs.

You know what i would do? I would custom make a box... im putting 2 10s in the trunk of myfastback right behind my seat, yes i said it behind the seat. The strut towers are the only concern, but if you have the time and patience, you can make a box to fit real snug in that space... im in the process of doing that right now. i would recommend making it a sealed box because it takes up a lot less space, and bandpass boxes suck nads. The bass is slow and mooshy, but a lil louder, but you cant hear distortion coming from the speaker, so when it blows, youll never see it coming... also, with a bandpass box, the sound level coming out will only get so loud and no louder, its hard to explain. Anyways, a good sealed enclosure will out pound just about anything out there in my opinion, just depends all on your amp in my eyes, i would recommend an alpine or kenwood amp, but thats just me.

i have a Eclipse 88120dvc 12" and i have to say i have one of the loudest systems around here. I'm running it with a kenwood 7202 amp, but it's the wrong amp. I'll soon have a Alpine v12, to push my amp and it should be much louder. I have to say Eclipse is one of the louder and clearer subs you can buy.

i know im bringing this from the dead, but i gotta make a recommendation for an amp for atown. Get an MRV-1507 from eBay... i got one for 200, and its the best amp ive ever listened to personally. Excellent sq and massive power. Ya cant go wrong with v12's

i got 2 mtx thunder 4500's, a mtx thunder series class d mono 400watt amp. they are in sealed enclosures, but i'm thinking bout making vented enclosures. subs are 12's. they are in my back hatch. they sound real good and pull double bass from punk rock and deep bass from r&b as good as any 10' and i got both for 106$ U.S. at circuit city on a bogo sale.

Does anybody here have dual 12's in their 91 coupe? I just bought mine, and i went to get my trunk measured at a local place and they said i wouldn't be able to fit 12's without inverting the box...can anybody tell me otherwise
if it helps i have 2 12" pioneer ts-w3004spl's
thanks

Theyre stupid. Build one urself. If i can fit a box that measures 6 cubic feet GROSS (before wood, port, and driver displacement) In a 91 hatch, your coupe can get a box. Its all in how the box is built. IT would be easier to get away with 10s though. 10s ported FTW.

Im gonna try to put the 12s in, theres a metal rod and the stock amplifier in theway so i might pull those both out and give it a try. but if i cant i might be going with two jbl 10" power series subs in a 4th order bandpassbox
