Have you ever replaced the transmission or clutch? It sounds like maybe your 5th gear position sensor and reverse sensor are wired improperly. Try getting under the car and locating the two sensors and see if they have been switched. Do your brake lights still come on when you are braking? For the mirror switch, it sounds like you have a bad connection at the switch or a bad switch. Try taking it out and spraying all the connections with cleaner and see if it fixes it.

well i just bought my 240sx a good two months ago, and it runs fine now, but i have a problem with my taillights. whenever i'm in fifth gear and hit the brakes, my reverse lights come on. i got pulled pulled over by a state patrol and i want to know how i can fix this. also i have a problem with the center console. my mirror controls and cigarette lighter don't work. just that section. could you guys give me a hand with all this mess??? i would certaintly appreciate it
