output shaft

Hey guys, ive just broke my second output shaft. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can get new ones or a aftermarket upgrade. I cannot keep replacing this part. I dont street race but I do practice drifting in this remote area so i need somthing thats going to last with the power im planning to make. Im only making around high 200hp- low 300hp, will a ka output shaft work I havent seen anyone talking about that so if anyone has any info please help me.

.... what kind of diff do you have.... at that power range if they are breaking things..... odds are you diff is jacked up. as far as replacements yes they have shafts that are rated for 500+ hp and cost a bit... I have never looked into them though

Ive got the stock open diff in. I have a rebuilt vlsd but havent had the time to replace it. I guess now after I get the tranny fixed Ill replace the diff. Oh and the part that the driveshaft goes onto, thats the mainshaft right AKA outputshaft, I dont wanna get my parts mixed up. Just out of curiosity how can a bad diff mess up a tranny. Im interested in that, because ive never heard of it happening before. This is my first 240 so im still picking stuff up as I go. well thanks for your help man I appriciate it.

Its ok if its a ghost town. Theres still plenty of good info. and I do have another update, I called the Driveshaft shop they asked me if I changed my rear end which I did. They then told me that because of that the rear might have pushed the "DS" further into the tranny and thats probably whats causing these problems.
The guy also told me that when you remove that black cover thats pressed onto the back of the tranny it goes over the "DS". theres supposed to be an inch of space from where the tranny ends and the base of the yoke on the "DS" begins. I measured my car and its way less than an inch like 1/4 inch.
I'd say this problem is solved.

no doubt bro.. there is a bit of space between the input shaft and the back of the trans. That space allow for play back and forth.

yeah you want about 3/4" to 1" of slack between the differential and yoke of the ds.
