Rb26dett - Awd - Rwd

Ok, sitting at work and mind started running, and started planning mess...

I know the rb26 normally comes with a awd drive transmission, but because of the drive trian, doesnt really fit well with the rwd of a 240.

Ok, would like awd, but head it's hard to drift awd, could just disable the front, or jsut keep the rwd tranny... but whats the fun it that...

now this is where I started thinking...
What if you took the drive train and tranny from a awd/rwd SUV... dont know if its the same with nissan, but I know majority of the Mitsubishi dts and trannies, are plug and play. doing this, you would get that little extra gear to throw it in awd or rwd...

Stupid huh? Just thought it would be cool to have...

to my ears.

Has there been an Attessa fitted 240sx? I was mulling over it with a friend today since I cannot afford my own Black R32 (YET) i thought about building an AWD 240sx. Has anyone done it? moreover is it possible?

Peace

if what you want is an rb26dett in a 240 and only rwd, then what you'll need is a tranny from an rb25det (since these are rwd). bolts right up to the 26 (but you might need a custom driveshaft for the 240's rear end). also, unless you want to do some extensive steering column fabrication (or rhd conversion), you're gonna wanna swap to a single turbo setup on the rb26. also, think about investing in some uh or mckinney motorsports engine mounts...

i'm pretty sure no one has done an awd setup in a 240 here (u.s., that is). do a web search to see if maybe someone outside of our borders has done it. i don't see the point of it, though. the 240 was designed to be a well balanced, rwd sports car. if you want all wheel drive:
mitsubishi eclipse gsx
eagle talon tsi
damn near ANY subaru
mistubishi 3000gt vr-4
mistubishi lancer evolution
(awd sr20 swap) pulsar gti-r
(awd sr20 swap) altima/stanza
and the list goes on and on....

also, consider these:
budget - broke/some dough/deep pockets/bill gates
purpose - drag/drift/autox/track/show
timeframe - yesterday/now/soon/forever
driving experience - what's a lsd?/i can shift/i can apex/they call me 'lil keiichi'

think about it...
