Yeah, Jesus is pretty much right. Copper wire is copper wire, there's no way around it. A friend of mine did his own home made ground kit, worked just as well as brand name. It basically smooths out the revs, gives slightly better response over stock and as strange as it sounds, the exhaust was a bit louder.

Overall, the hype over ground kits are just that, hype. Does it help out? Sure, but not to the extent of increasing HP through the use of grounding wires.

I'm wondering why it would increase hp/throttle response at all, as the stock wires are pretty thick (~10 gauge?) copper wires, the same as you would buy at an audio store or autozone.

it's simple, the injectors are poorly grounded. this could be the result of a number of things that the additional ground wires may or may not fix. the increase in throttle response may be the result of better fuel atomization because of the properly grounded injectors. i say, "may" because this is not the only explanation, but for intents and purposes of this discussion, it is a valid explanation.

hey jr wouldn't a grounding kit help give the engine a hotter spark out of the coil because its not working as hard to find a good ground..? just curious not 100% sure so correct me if i'm wrong...

in all electronics... a pure ground is a must .. so the better the ground the better the current flow. + flows to the - in normal polarity.

its been close to 6 years since my last electronics class... someone will verify my polarity statement.

i don't believe so. that might have been true with older plugs, wires, and point ignition systems, but i don't believe that applies anymore. i wish i could present more than just my opinion, but the truth of that matter is that i've gone for so long without reading up on many of the finer points of engines and what not. i've forgotten the details but have managed to retain the gist of things. that's why i like to keep my explinations simple and to the point.

you could put stickers on your car and +hp lol

you could do a 248/232 cam swap

use an s13 exhaust cam for intake and an s14 intake or exhaust cam for your exhaust

and its pretty cheap if you do it your self and it will +hp and +trq in certain ranges
