Diff question

i have a 96 24osx se and i was wondering if i could swap the diff with my new 90 240sx....and if i can how hard will it be?

are diffs the same size?

-no you cant swap them due to the half shafts/ABS ( if applicable )

you could change them out internally only if the diff on the s14 happens to be an R200. An R200V is a Viscous lsd

-the housings are different so they cant mount to each other

its not hard at all

also what type of 240 do you have?

oh okay thanks...my s14 has the stock lsd for the se edition....and i got an open diff on the s13...i guess i'm goin to have to buy one now....welding the diff doesn't work that well does it>? (for drifting purposes)

yes its great for drift purposes. many will argue that it disrupts other things.... yes it does, but if you learn to deal with it until you can get a 1.5 or 2way diff, it will be fine. a 2way gives when under decel which is great for racing, however a 2way is just as jerky when daily driving as a welded is.
