DIY:AVI Removal

Looked around here, trying to find one on how to do it..and couldn't so i figured i'd just make my own! aha.

Most people ask, What is this? What does it do?

Well it does something about exhaust and intake..and well, Lets just rip it out? because its not needed in the engine bay..So here we go:

Step 1:
There's going to be 3 bolts for the bracket to hold on the whole AIV. 2 On top(pictured below) and 1 on the bottom.

Step 2:
You wanna unplug the things at the bottom of the AIV, a few lines and a big plug, i just unbolted the area where it plugs into, ALOT easier...

Step 3:
Try your hardest to wiggle the tube off of the exhaust thingy. Its gonna be tough, but some how mine came off and im a wimp! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Step 4:
Your gonna wanna plug off any thing that is now open, the vaccum lines(the little guys..), I'm gonna use tape. And I just hammered a bolt inside the pipe that goes to the cat. Not sure if it works, but its worth the try right? (if you need the bolt let me know i've got a whole case of them. Its a 15/16 or something like that. Then throw a clamp around it, which i have done a day later than i did this. (note:the picture was taken before the bolt was hammered all the way in..)

And your final product should look like this:

Then your done, give your self a pat on the back! Any questions, PM me or reply to this.

All it does is recirculate the exhaust for cold starts. Doesnt do anything other than that. Pretty useless thing to have.
