NEWBS! WELCOME TO S-Chassis :) Please read this ONCE before you continue.

First of all welcome to the boards. New members are always welcome as it brings new faces and extends our community of 240sx owners. With that in mind, in order to make your stay as pleasant as possible, there are some things you need to know before you go posting on the boards.

1. The Magic SEARCH Button. Take a look at this button:

...that button is located at the top of every forum page, and believe it or not, when used properly this magic button will answer 99% of the most common newbie questions that are often posted weekly.

SR20DET or KA24DET?
What does an LSD do?
Does my car have LSD?
How do I do a Silvia conversion?
Coilovers or Spring/Shocks?

These and many more questions already have multiple threads with the answers you seek. If you just take a few minutes searching with the button, you will learn a lot on your own, and things learned on your own usually stay with you longer than if someone were to just give you the answers.

2. There is no BEST.
...we get a lot of "What's the best _____ for my car?" questions, and frankly - we can't answer that. The "best" product for your car is largely dependent on what your real plans are, whether it's daily driving, drifting, road course, etc. For example - sure, everyone at some point thinks that getting the best coilovers for the track is the right choice since you "plan on drifting" but seriously ask yourself how often you will actually do it. Take into consideration your budget, your driving skill (this is one that many newbs over-exaggerate, believe it or not), and of course what you use the car for. A set of 12/10kg coilovers are awesome for track driving but are not comfortable for daily driving on public roads, no matter what some die hard track guys (or girls) may say. Be realistic with yourself and you will find what's best for you.

3. Introduce yourself, make some friends.
If you're reading this you're on your way to becoming a regular member of the boards. All new signups are welcome to introduce themselves in the "New Members" area of the forum. We also have a personal member photo thread and a members rides gallery section for you to show us you and your ride. We would also appreciate it if you can go to your User CP (Control Panel) and fill out the profile section. You'll be surprised how many fellow 240sx owners may be in your local area. Click this button above ---> to get there.

4. Keep your attitude in your pants.
So you may be some bigshot with your high school friends, or you may be able to mouth off on other forums. Good for you. However here at Club240 thinking you are "mr. professional' doesn't mean you can flame away at other board members. Don't think just because you've gone to 1 DriftDay or you've done 13 seconds in your old Honda or you know someone who knows someone who knows someone at a shop - that it automatically makes you right and everyone else wrong. This is a community board and one of the purposes of forums like this is to help others out who share the same interests. Sometimes someone may say something you disagree with. No problem - feel free to respond but make it constructive. You'll last a lot longer around here if you treat the other board members as you would want them to treat you.

5. There is a 'right' way to PostWhore.
For those who don't know, the term "PostWhore" is usually attached to a forum member that makes multiple posts on a daily basis. There are some who post just to get their post count up; usually these members enter redundant or meaningless posts just for the sake of post count. All this does is take up database space. There are others who post multiple times daily, but a majority of their posts have meaningful content - helping others find solutions, troubleshooting, or making solid suggestions. The 2nd type is the 'right' type. If you are active enough to be labelled a "PostWhore" (which in some cases is a compliment) try to be the 2nd type. Any other crap like spamming, ad whoring, stupid stuff like pyramid schemes or pimp slaps will = ban.

6. Don't forget - the Mods are watching.
This isn't a power play - I'm just reminding you that the moderators of the forum can, at any time, without notice edit, delete, move, or close threads and posts at our discretion. If your post or thread was moved, edited, or closed, don't ***** at your nearest moderator. Chances are there is a good reason for the edit (sometimes the reason is stated in the last post in the thread). If in doubt, feel free to PM any active moderator and we'll try to clear anything up for you. If you stick to the rules and stay social, there's no reason for you to worry about this paragraph. Otherwise, feel free to start trouble with any of the mods so we can ban you and save the rest of the members the trouble of dealing with you. NOTE: For info on the so-called "power trips", please go to this thread.

7. When in doubt, contact a mod first.
If you have any concerns or issues or just some random question for a mod, feel free to contact one of us (current active mods):

If you have a question, an issue with another forum member or other mod (!) send me a PM and I"ll see what I can do.

So anyways, welcome again to the S-Chassis forum. Thank you, and enjoy your stay
