2JZ-GTE vs. RB25DET

Would it be possible to swap the 2JZ-GTE into a 98 240SX? I have heard they are a lot stronger engines than the RB25DET. That they can hold up to 150-200 more hp than the RB25DET Which swap would be easier and cheaper, but with better results hp wise?

a 2jz in a 240....sounds very unlikely. but remember, you can do anything with the right amount of money. id rather just go for a RB25 swap then trying to go threw the hassel of a 2JZ swap..

There is a S14 drag car with a S15 front, running a 2jz. I think it's in the 9's???

Is the swap very hard? I mean does it bolt right in or will u need to modify the engine bay? And your even hooking up all of the wires and harnesses?

u dont need to modify the negine bay very much. WIth the RB20 swap all u need to do is drop it in, hook it up, and fire it up haha. ez stuff. There are very lil modifications u need to do but thats it. And yea, me and a few friends are ganna wire up the RB20.

Yea i was planning on getting the RB25DET, would you need to hook up the Skyline exhaust to match it or would you just use your original exhaust. Personally I would rather have it sound deep and throaty, kinda like a domestic engine not like the bumble bee sounding hondas Ha. Would it sound sort of like a Skyline if I used the Skyline exhaust instead of my stock 240 one?

As you are in Texas, Go to www.freshalloy.com and do a search on RB25DET swap. Make the search go back to AT LEAST 2002, if it still does. And then no later than july 2003.
You will find there IS a swap here in Texas of the RB's. It ran well,
in the 14's yet was HEAVY in front. The 2JZ will be about the same with a ligher front feel. More Torque though at the bottom end. And a gang full of cash over the RB..
Hope this helps..

Yea that helped a lot thanks . . . and i know this is kinda getting off the topic but while i was looking around for parts for the RB i saw this N-tercoller kit from Nitrous Express for the intercooler. It says it doesnt spray nitrous into the engine but it also claims to give out like 50+ horsepower?? It sounds like a really good buy for about $300. What do yall think about it?

The N-tercooler just sprays I believe CO2 onto your front mount intercooler to increase the cooling. It does work and for $300 doesn't sound to bad. I'd just like to know how many seconds or minutes of spray you get out of a bottle.
