6x9 speakers
 

I was wandering if anyone has or has tried to put 6x9inch speakers into the rear deck of a 1995 240sx? If so how hard would it be to modify the rear deck, I know its made for the 6.5inch. This was just a thought i had. anyway thanks for any input

Well Im just taking a shot in the dark here, but the rear deck is made of metal, so I imagine it would be pretty hard. You could probably make some sort of spacer or just grind away at the metal. However both are probably very bad ideas. I say just pay a little bit extra, and get some nice 6.5"s.

why do you think it would be a bad idea?

the trunk spring bars are kind of high so the 6 x 9 speakers would have to set up a little high so there is no clearance issues...it could be done... but yes you would have to cut the metal out to fit a 6 x 9 ... then buikd a spacer to lift the speaker up high enough to clear the trunk springs... the spacers could look ghetto if not done right... what i would suggest is to make them out of fiberglass instead of wood...
if you decide to make them out of fiberglass you can usually find me on aim screen name wikd24d or on msn messenger stain13@hotmail.com... i will give you some ideas on how to make the spacers or pods....
