Take out the power antenna assembly. There is a cable that runs to the back of your head unit. If possible splice the new antenna into it.

If you cannot splice the new one run it thru the car. You could try and pull it through on the old wire but I don't know how tight the panels will be. Tape the head of the new wire to the tail of the old and pull the new thru the car.

Install an antenna mount. You can go to pep boys and get one but they always have flat mounts. They will make the antenna stick out to the side.

I would think that the dealership would have one that fits the 240s panel. You could always Dremel the pep boys if it annoys you.

How bout this idea? Can the whole antenna and just fill up the hole. Then go to radio shack and but the antenna that sticks to the window. YOu have accomplished 2 things doing it this way and only cost u a little $

The car is sleeker looking without the antenna there and it wouldn't get stolen/broken

and you still have radio functionality.

That is what i'll have setup.

its the plastic mast thing in there that broke. there are kits on Ebay that are posed to fix it. i'll go for the flat mount joint that looks like a rear defroster.
the mast in the antenna is broke. i think there is a how to at
another 240 site.

Thats because where you live they have cheap alternatives of everything and copy everything Radio Shack had. Remember the Jay Z song, Girls, Girls, Girls "She Kept Bootlegging my ****" Well that came from around your way. Flushing. hee hee
