someone ripped my stereo out of the dash and cut the wires, i can identify all the wires except there is another wire moulded to the antenna wire. What is this for? thanks

 

the little antenna wire goes to your rear-glass antenna (it's above the heating elements, most ppl don't notice it). It suppliments the signal in an attempt to give us better reception, it won't work for a replacement for the main antenna tho.
