Bass....

Hey you guys...1993 240 SE COUPE[B][I] ...wnating to add some bass maybe a pair of 10's...any unusual setups out there? hoping to not take up TOO much space...not enough room under rear deck for a box...just looking for ideas.

Thanks ya'll!

Try JL 12 W6's - They only need about 1 cubic foot each or if you have the $$$, try a 12" Kicker Solo Baric competition series.

FYI:
I've never placed less than 2nd at any SPL Drag that I've competed in. I usually compete in the 1-300 class or single sub woofer class. My avg is about 146 db.

Well, I don't know about you, but for me, all I would need is just one 10 inch sub, mainly cause its not like I'm going to show it off or stuff like that, I just want some bass.

Well, can't say I've had my nose itch, but my Camry certainly does shake; mainly cause my brother put two 12s in running 1000 amp. I don't think he needs that much bass, but he payed for it all, so it doesn't matter to me.

Well, no hatch open for me, but our box is pretty big too; and being over 100 pounds its pretty heavy too. Especially for the someone that stole it once.

Yeah Look into JL Audio 10 w6's. I have a single ten in a MTX perfab 1 inch MDF box With a MTX Thunder 2150x pushing it. I didn't want alot of bass but It has plenty if I really want to push it. Great sub deep lows and suberb mids.. Plus great warranty if you get it from the right car audio shop!

I am planning to take the back seat out and build a custom box at a slopping angle with two 12's. That will save the trunk space incase I decide I need the room for a big blue bottle.

My friend Donnie drives a ford probe and built a box in the trunk for four 12's. It is the same box he has in his RX7 kit car. The RX7 is retired but the probe will deafen you. He is running four MTX thunder 5000. They are the same speakers as the Thunder 6000 just an older model.

were you guys paying attention? to me he made it sound like he wanted A LITTLE bass...and didn't want to spend a lot of money...you all are tellin him to go out and get EXTREMELY high end subs like the w6's and w7's

i wont offer you any advice other than to go check out car audio stores and shop around...check e-bay (this is sumthing you should always do) and price around

research before you purchase anything! but in the end the decision of what suits your needs best based on your budget is your own

I always pay attention.

Just tossing out some ideas. I got out pretty cheap on my set up, $800. Used Pioneer head unit, new amp and speakers. Swaped a ban pass for a quad box, just need two more twelves and another amp and I will be set.

240racer, You could always try the pawn shop. You can find a good head unit and amps pretty cheap. If you don't want to go extreme like what I plan by taking out the back seat (wont use it anyway) Try getting a couple of truck rider boxes. Two tens or even twelves won't take up any room at all.

I had a friend who ran a box with two orion 6 1/2. Sounded pretty good.

It is all about what you want and can afford. I use to run a set of MTX Terminators 8's in two full range truck rider boxes.

Jester

PS
Watch out buying used stuff. You need to know what to look for. Take a basser friend with you if you do decide to by from pawn shops.
