Cool Alpine Type S Speakers....

can someone tell me, would a set of Alpine Type-S's be good for this kind of music?

Depends... Are you looking at the Alpine Type S 6x9's or are you looking at subwoofers?
If you're looking for 6x9's then those would be fine. Also depends which cd player you're using and which amp if you're going to use one.

are you going for loud or are you going for clarity? Focal makes great component speaker set-ups. As far as sub(s), I always stick to Kicker as they have both loudness (if wanted) and a good range of bump. I also stick with Kicker amps. JL Audio has good amps too.

right now i got a Kenwood KDC-135CR (4x50w) deck, and i'm not sure if i'm gonna be running an amp, also subwoofers might just be overkill, lol, so most likely just a set of Type S 6x9's and that kenwood deck are what i'm going to be using

I sell a few different brands at one of my jobs. Alpine, Kicker, Eclipse, and Memphis. Kicker and Memphis by far have a richer/fuller sound than the Type S' or for that matter the Type R's and thats comparing to Kickers and Memphis' lower level stuff. Given the option, one of those would be my choice.
