no constant yellow, no ground

Hello all. I just finished putting a newer motor into my 95 240sx. Everything is working except the radio. When I plug in the adapter harness, I checked the radio ignition (red) and there was 12V in it. I checked the constant yellow wire but there is no power. Checked the ground coming out the adapter harness and no ground. I plugged in another adapter harness that I had and still teh same thing. What could be the problem? I've checked the "radio" and "12V" fuses under the dash and they are good. Checked the "radio" fuse in the engine bay and it is still good :(

I replaced the 7.5A elect. batt. fuse and yellow wire is good now. Black still no ground, which is not a problem because the screws holding the unit in and antena wire will provide ground.

So then why not just run a ground under the dash? It's only like 3 minutes.

yes, that's what I ended up doing. The screws holding the radio bracket grounds it out. I grounded my boost controller, gauges, and turbo timer there also :bigok:

Nissan's dont have a ground to the radio. You have to ground 90% of them yourself somewhere around the radio (usually the easiest) to some piece of metal. Check for continuity first though.

i had the same problem with ground, so i just ran a wire with a ring terminal to one of the screws in the shifter's mounting ring (i think thats it) on the tranny hump. Works great, i also have the LED grounded there... i have a switch just beneath my radio that runs between the amp and the HU so i can turn it off when i want. The LED turns on when the switch is on... very cool setup.
