ok i got pioneer 6.5s for my 96 240sx.... they dont bolt up ... what the hell do i do...

Front? Back?

drill holes and make them fit.

i have a 95 and the speakers bolted up just fine, but the grill didn't fit right so i had to just force it into place using the screws. its kinda hard to explain but unless the 95 and 96 are that different you should be little problem.

i put in infinity kappa 6.5s in the fronts then moved them to the rear. had no problems in the fronts, the rears i used wire ties to secure the speaker because stock screws were WAY too large. i have polk 6750 in the front and had no problems installing

They're actually 6.5s = oversized 6.5's (lame idea) which come out to just about 6.75".

hey radam, how did you like the polks? I decided to wait a little while before getting them.

i haven't adjusted the output, but nice, crisp, and high :) i need to adjust higher frequency because sometimes it's a little too much. i still need to post pics of install :-/

Ok heres what to do and its really easy. First of all i put Pioneer 5x7s in the rear since my speakers were blown, obviously they didnt just "slide in". All you do is get a sawzall, card board, a cutting knife, and a sharpie. You outline the top of the speaker where its at its widest with the card board and sharpie, to make a mock-up to go by. Dont include the screw holes when you make this mock-up. After that is done, take the cardboard and place it by the original speaker holes, dont forget to watch out for the wires. Now i know your not going to be able to mark all the way around the card board, but mark as many places as you can. After thats done take the sawzall and start cutting where you marked you lines. The first time through try undercutting it so you dont overcut and screw yourself. Then place the speakers in the new cut holes and see if they fit, if so then screw them down, and hook em up and test em out. If they dont fit look for the places where theyre rubbing and cut those out a little bit more. BUT BEWARE DONT OVER-CUT YOUR HOLES!
