Some nice Speakers...
 

I just bought some infiniti kappa perfect 6x9's for the back of my s14.... Gonna get some full component speakers for the front... How you guys think that will sound ? Or should I have just stuck with sum 6x5 rounds for the back ?

i've always liked the 6x9s, some will knock them but if you ask me they sound great. i've tried many different speakers on different cars and honestly some of the cheap knock offs sound just as good as the more expensive brands.
the most important thing is to have a quality head unit. if the sensitivity rating is low then any speakers will sound like crap.

i once bough some jdl (not jbl) 4 way 6x9's at a flee market from a friend. i think i paid $20 and were far better than some name brand speakers out there.

i have 2 sonny poldx 6x9's in my hatch and it sounds like i have a 9" JL or somthing it there...it sounds really good

If i throw some subs in later will they still sound nice... or will they distort with bass ?

it all depends on how big you go

EarthQuake Amp and one ported 12 inch l5 kicker, or 12 inch ported CVX..

What kind of music do you listen to? You should tailor your audio system to your taste in music. Don't just throw in some 12s and call it a day.

Man to be very honest what dont i listen to... It goes with my mood.. While driving most likely id have like a chillout type beat with moderate bass lines... but then there are my crazy days =D

You could probably get by with a 10 if your just looking to add a little kick to your music.

If you want clear, solid music then 10s are the only way to go if you want subs. 12s and bigger arent as responsive, theyre only good for making lots of noise. The setup you listed in your original post should be more than enough if you arent looking to do subs.

That is 100% false. Just because it is larger does not mean that it is any less responsive. Audio setups are 80% install, 15% equipment, and 5% beer. What enclosure you use, what amp you use, and what the speaker is built to do will determine what it sounds like. There are balls to the wall SPL fart makers, and there are very civilized SQ oriented woofers.

Don't worry about the hatch rattling. It takes a LOT of sound to make a our hatches rattle.

I would recommend a 10" or 12" Kicker CompVX. Very good woofer. I have 1 ported in my 'vert and it is WICKED loud. :headbang2:

Woah there. Settle down. If he is asking what his setup should be and is not into audio then he should go with 10s. They are much more forgiving response wise than the 12s. I think it is safe to say he isn't going to be using a 1000 dollar amp or precisely tuning this system unless he has it professionally done. I dont mean the OP any offense, it's just that if you are asking these questions I dont think you are an audiophile. So I will rephrase, to the average joe a 10 will sound more responsive than a 12.
