where to mount the amp?

just curious where you have all mounted your amps, cus the trunk space is very small. if you have pics, thatd be great.

heres some low quality pics, were thinkin of putting a board in between the backseat and the trunk and then resting the amp on there. cus there really isnt anywhere else. trunk is small as hell. peep pics:

that would be a good idea... making a board that mounts behind the seat in the pass through area... i believe this to be better than mounting amps to a box... there is also room on eather side in the rear... like where the jack is located... just have to make a board to hole it in place as well...

Well, the back of the seat is metal, if you get some medium sized screws, you can mount the amp on there no problem. Depending on how big your sub box is, you could also mount it on the floor, with a board underneith that.

The biggest problem with mounting an amp to a sub box is the vibrations that occur, it could rattle something loose internally. Best thing to do is probably the back seat though.

my ppi is wedged between my sub box and the trunk frame, so i guess i didn't mount it though, i took out the "bottom" of the trunk (that thin cardboard stuff) and put in maybe 1/4" wood. so if i wanted i could just screw it to that...

I just got done installing my system last night. I have a Power Acoustik amp that I plan on mounting on the back of the seat towards the driver side and then having my Cap on the right side of that, you'd think there wouldn't be enough room, but I checked and double checked and yeah...it'll fit. The box is facing the front and I drive with my back seat down for more flow. I'll try posting some pics if anyone is interested.

Btw, i have two IDQ12s and 1920W Power Acoustik Plasma amp...if anyone cares.

if you were to turn your box around and fire the woofers onto the glass your system should get louder... it takes 18 feet for a bass wave to be its loudest inside of a car... (in most cases) using the back glass to bounce the sound wave off of should make it louder... here is some pices of an amp rack i built in a bmw... my set up will look almost the same as this one does...

p.s. i have more pics of the setup if you are intrested in how the whole thing looked.. as well as some other pictures of other installs that were even nicer than this one...
