Wierd , my subs quit working!

I have a ghetto set-up of 1 12 inch sub and 1 10inch...the 12inch is 800watts and the 10 is 1200. My amp is just a 300watt with built in crossover. The thing is, the amps green power light is still on but the subs are not working.Does anyone know why?...I tried re-plugging and plugging and nothing. I know speakers are not blown just because of size of amp.

I would recommend a bigger amp if you are running all that power through it but check the connection and make sure none of your sub connections are fried or anything else of the sort.

If the amp is on then a wire somewhere is no good. FIND IT!

You could also check to make sure that the sub's input from the head unit is still good, ie it hasn't pulled out of the back of your stereo. If that is good, then it could be the speaker wire running from amp to subs... does each sub have its own channel, or do you have them both running from one channel? I also wonder if your amp outputs are still working right, but its most likely a wire somewhere.

Ok apparently it was the fuse going out on it..I just switched it with new one and it works perfect again.

so let me get this right. you're powering a 800w rms 12" and a 1200w rms 10" with a 300w amp?

you're underpowering the **** out of your subs.

well i guess thats a reason to get rid of them.

Yeah, its actually hurting the subs more than conserving.

Why the hell would you mix and match like that anyways? Why not just bridge with one speaker? I dont know, just seems stupid to me.
