What do you guys think

I'm about to build up an older 240 coupe. It's gunna be a trailer queen so I'm not worried bout the expense. The interior will be gutted and very little exterior mods will be placed on (body kit, flares, and hood altering to fit the engine).
The engine will be a VQ35DE (350Z) and still undecided on whether to go SC, Turbo, or both.
The car will mostly be a quarter mile car but I'll take it to some drifting events in my area.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Also has anyone attempted the swap b4 and if so I would like to know how it went.

Thank You,
EM

Yeah I can understand an older VQ but I don't know anyone that has used a new VQ to power a 240sx.

My question is, is the bay big enough for the engine, turbo, and the intercooler piping? If not I could just supercharging it. I got plenty of plans right now but as most of you know there are always snags. My goal right now is to make it as smooth as possible. Thanks for the input, will keep you posted.

remember this is going to be a long process so don't expect pics any time soon.

Thanks,
EM

I don't know. I think you should get the bay measurments for the current Z and compair that to your 240. I know it is a cramped install in the correct chassis. You could 86 all of that plastic covering to help but that can only get you what? An inch or two?

why bother spending an assload of money and time (fabrication) on the VQ when you can just use an RB25?

Why bother replying if your just going to come off as an ass in every post? If he wants to do the VQ more power to him, some people want to try stuff thats never been done. Just think of the person who first put an RB25 into a 240. If he listened to the people that said "Why spend an assload of money and just put the SR into it?", we would never have the RB swaps. So I say Eyeceman, do it, it'll be awesome if you do it and everything works out, and do a write up. :thumb:

for real. you would have to setup the car drastically different to do each. even in the suspension alone. not to mention that the ideal motor would be alot lighter then the VQ.
