drifting needing some variety

Personally i'm getting tired of seeing the same cars over and over being out there drifting :o . I mean everytime you see magazine articles on drifting , the cars our all the same and they look the same. a bunch of S13,S14,S14 silvias, couple Rx-7s, and thats usually it. I mean it makes me want to get a volkswagon rabbit and drift it just to be different. I like drifting and all but its starting to seem like the same thing over and over.:dunno:

They are the same because they work.

It works so why not? I tried with a 330+hp Mustang roushe stage 1 before...OMG that beast could really slide. I wonder if n-e one has ever tried using a camaro ss or a mustang: cobra, roushe, saleen etc...I know they got the gto going on now but i was thinking that after i got smoked by some camaro ss lol. Ever wondered about it?

I personally like seeing more competition between the different ages and models foriegn and domestic. But i think on the other hand i would rather go to these events and see the same model cars.
I think when you have a few of the same cars out there it really comes down to the person who is a better driver and has a better knowledge of his or her car. And also that person will try and push it to the limit to beat the other of his kind. Just brings more competition to the sport.
I should start taking the exploder to the drift events. I swear i get sideways more in that thing than the 240.:D

well they do have a team using the GTO now also

C-Walk 12-10-2004 12:13 PM

yea i was reading about some "drift dream camp" thing in like louisianna and its a two day event for $2000 but they teach you how to drift in the new GTOs. they say they go through about $900 worth of rubber a day. Aparently the GTO is good for it especially mountain drifitng.

240sxNLR 12-10-2004 12:31 PM

that's close to me...but I think my $2 grand would be better spent on my car...esp considering the condition it is in right now...lol

I went to Hyperfest at Lowes Motor Speedway two years ago and there was a Trans Am WS6 trying to drift. Either the guy was scared or just didn't know how to drive. He had more power than any other car there and could not get it to go sideways for more than a few feet. It was a 6spd manual too!
