Aftermarket Driveshaft

Well there isn't a thread on these I was wondering if people on here had one and their impressions on them.

I'm thinking about going with a Driveshaft shop one piece steel unit.

Anyone ?

get an aluminum one if u upgrade, basically just less weight to spin, like getting a lighter flywheel it would improve revs/acceleration

Where's a reputable place to get a good aluminum driveshaft?

Stupid question time...this car has been converted from automatic to manual so would that affect which shaft to use in any way? This car acted kinda strange after the conversion. I can crank it up without stepping on the clutch just like it was an automatic....weird yes?

www.phase2motortrend.com has them as well. Just get one for the type of brakes you have (abs or not) and you should be good to go.

As for the no clutch to start, you just bypassed the clutch switch, its not really a problem at all, some people do it to their cars on purpose.

Is that the switch located on the clutch pedal assembly like the brake pedal switch? Also, is it common for some people to bypass the clutch switch?

Bryan 11-14-2006 10:23 AM

Yeah, closer to the top of the pedal. People who put remote starts on manual cars have to bypass it, other people just bypass it so they don't have to push the clutch. It's not a huge deal really.
