Auto vs. stick shift? With exceptions! HA HA!

Another auto vs. manual thread here. Well, from my knowledge of auto tranny's, I know that you couldn't fall out of a tree with a stall under 3000 rpm. Actually, I would say 3400 rpm instead. I feel that if I can get set of lower (numerically higher) rear gears along with about a 3200 stall converter, I should be able to run with the stick shift guys. There is this one company called import performance trans, that sells custom converters for the same price as a QUALITY clutch and pressure plate combo. But I have concerns about having a high stall tc. Shouldn't the ecu set a fault due to the converter stalling higher? What's the deal?

The car i'm talking about is an S14 w/KA motor. I'm gonna do simple things such as a header, high flow muffler, cams (maybe), "air intake tube," and a definite 75hp wet shot.

I want to go deep into the 13's. Am I dreaming, or is it possible?

Thanks for reading my post!

With what you just mentioned, dont even think about running any better than mid-high 15's....
