automatic transmission help.
 
Hello, I have a 89 240sx se hatchback and its auto(You have no Idea how badly I wanna do a tranny swap for a manual one), Its not doing so great and I wanna change the tranny oil and filter but I dont know what filter I need the dude at western said he had three and that I needed to know the size of the nut on the pickup bleh of the inside of the transmission and I dont know or either the make of the tranny so if some can really help me out here and tell me the model tranny, that would help me alot oh and im not sure what tranny fluid to use the dipstick says Dextron so that would just be dextron 1 but I wanna make sure.

No1 has ever changed there tranny oil?? What did you do?

Be patient, the answer will come. I read up on the FSM and said Genuine Nissan ATF or equvilant type dexron II. Hope that helps:dunno:

Moving to drivetrain. . .

Redline makes ATF, use that, it'll actually help your transmission.

Thanks you guys, Yes it helped me alot :),
Im going to take out the filter and drive down there in my old mans car and look for one that is similar.
I'll post if there is a difference.
