Hey anybody out there ever had this problem with their auto tranny, my car wont shift out of second gar at all i'm baffled tranny fluid is cool i also flushed it but nothing it'll just redline and i can't go anywhere unless i'm going 20 miles an hour. also the dash lights started to f'up around the same time no HUD or nuthin please somebody help

When you flushed the oil...did you notice anything weird in the oil?

no not really it was regular a little dark, but thats to be expected
i even put a magnet on the pan to see if there was any chios or shavings and still nothing i think i'm just gonna go ahead and replace it

I know what you are talking about. I dont believe its the tranny its self. The parts car I bought had the same problem. No drive( only L1 & L2) or OD. that was one of the reasons they sold it.
Also, another tailtale sign of it being electrical is the OD light didnt come on.

I took out the engine & tranny at the same time out of the parts car & swapped them into mine. Figuring that if the tranny is bad( because it is controlled electrically) that maybe its electrical & not the tranny its self. Well I got everything swapped over & took it for a drive & low & behold the tranny was fine. Shifts like its brand new.
So now I have that one in the car & freshly rebuilt one sitting in my garage:)



What you want to do is to check the connections by the battery box. there should be 3 of them. Make sure they arenot loose.
If you are still having problems, if the connections are not loose. I'll dig out the schematics.

thanx for the info, you said there should be three connections by the batt. i'll be sure to check that out
