Differential Overhaul/Rebuild Specs?
Hey guys i'm new to this forum and I have already tried to do a search for answers to my questions, but was unable to find any answers. So here's what I need help/answers with:
1990 240sx -What is the total pinion bearing preload suppose to be at, with new/used bearings? -What is the max/min specifications for pinion to ring backlash and runout? -What are the torque specs for the bearing cap bolts in the differential assembly? -Is the differential carrier shimmable or does it come with thread adjusters? OR -Is there a universal answer to these questions that i'm missing? I just purchased the Chilton, it does not have the specs for these. Can anybody here with the Dealership Service Manual scan the things I need? If you can please email me at turntablowie@netscape.net thanks much |
Pinon bearing preload:9.5-12.2 in-lb
Runout of Ring gear: .05mm(.0020in) Ring gear to drive pinon backlash: .10-.15mm(.0039-.0059in) Thats all i can find, and this is for 93-94 240, but 89-94 differentials use the same one so it should be good for all. The FSM has all the info you need... |
