grinding in reverse

Hi there, i'm new to the forums, and an old Toyota fan who just moved over to my very first Nissan. Its a 95 240sx se, and i'm currently trying to get it to run smoothly (it sat for a year)

Replaced fluids, new brake pads, new batt, and the tires were still good. The problem i'm having is that when I try to put it into reverse, there is a bad grinding problem. the previous owner stated that he put a new clutch in before he left for Portugal, and i'm thinking its that, and hoping its not the synchros. any ideas?

Could be the Fluid in the Tranny. Make sure you fill it with GL-4 Type fluid. My Personal favorite is 1 qt. BG Synchromesh for cold trans. problems, 1 qt. Motul for hot trans. problems, and Top off with Redline MTL. Smooth as Butter.

my car grinds 1st and reverse when moving, have to be close to a dead stop to put it in 1st and same with reverse.

i have the same problem. my friend told me that it most likely has something to do with the driveshaft driveshaft.

Change fluid to Redline MT-90 fluid. It works great.

redline and royal purple are some of the best in the business...
