Hicas rear strength
hey everyone, im kinda new to the world of 240, but i just picked up a 91 se super hicas pretty cheap, no engine or tranny, and i was wondering how strong the factory rear is in these cars? i haven't decided if i want to keep the hicas setup or not yet, im planning on dropping a ls1 and a t56 into it and doing some autocross and canyon carving with it, the engine is probably only going to be putting out around 400-450 horsepower and torque.
any opinions? i tried a search and didnt find much, maybe i tried the wrong words thanks for any help Mark |
get rid of it, take out all the lines, and the electronics for it, and the rear doesn't sway, you dont have to swap sub frame out until that rear hicas bar gives out. Mine is all disconnected and the rear doesn't do anything. Not sure if i got lucky or what.
Or there is hicas eliminator bars.. subframe swaps but if your doing an LSX swap you dont want that hicas rear subframe. The stock LSD might be able to handle the power. I know my friend Kevin(outtowinpahc), blew up 2 KAZ 2 ways on the dyno..and 2 welded diffs, now he has a J30 Rear with some kinda internals in it. And its fine.. |
hicas bar....
