How much to get a clutch installed????

OK im pretty sure my clutch is gonna be gone soon, how much would it cost on average for labor??? I dont want to do it my self unless sumone can convince me, Everything in my signature I did my self except the exhasut cuz well the piping had to be welded and bent LOL but everything else I mean everything I did. Give me sum prices what u guys paid for ur clutch install and how hard it is to install it my self.

Look to be spending $250-$450...

i would think about 1-2 hours but it will vary for the $/hr for each shop. i would think about 200 or below just for labor. fortunatly i will be getting free labor!! getting a centerforce dual friction clutch. doing it monday next week, should be interesting.

also as for parts you need the clutch **** and also the pilot bushing and throwout bearing. the centerforce only comes with the pressure plate and disc-something. i had to get the pilot bushing and bearing seperate. i drove a 240 with this clutch and it feels near stock but grabs better.

its not that hard i did it my self. first dissconnect all the wires, take off drive shaft, take off trans crossmenber, trans will be hanging a little so then start to take off the tranny witch is like 9 bolts when taking off the tranny have like a jack to hold it up so it wont fall be ready for the oil. it aint hard just takes time about 1 day or so. Good Luck

On my friends car they said about 6 hours to install and about $600 in labor. He had a Honda CRX though too, so I dunno.

i got mines done for 175...just labor...just go around and ask the small auto repair shops...they're cheaper that a clutch speicalist places...and question..when you was putting in your headers..was it harder to take off the o2 senoser..j/w...planing to get headers for myself...

ryan15 04-13-2004 11:05 AM

No matter if you get an obx header or any header it will be alot easier for you. I looked at the obx header for the 91-94 model and they didnt mess up on the o2 sensor location like they did on mine. Me myself cannot tak the o2 off without taking off the header but with the 91-94 you can. Man that makes me mad.
