kouki

how hard would it be to get ahold of a 97 (idk if different years have different tranny's i think 97 and 98's are the same??) kouki ka manual tranny to swap with an automatic tranny??? because its hard to find the color i want and manual transmission not to mention all the other factors that a car has rust damage collisions interior color etc. excuse my nubness

Fast1One 05-20-2005 01:36 PM

Im pretty sure you could use any s14 tranny not just Kouki. Search the web or your local wreckers

xXsilviaXx 05-20-2005 03:14 PM

thanks for giving me a straight up answer fast1one i will try to search it just feels so discouraging being i live in minnesota and a junkyard with a 240 may be hard to come by maybe idk

Chiefgmsr 05-20-2005 11:59 PM

Yea any s14 tranny will do. You're more likely to find a 95 though. Kouki years, there were much less 5speeds. GoodLuck!!!

LA_phantom_240 05-23-2005 06:03 PM

Oh yes... and a lot less of the 240s were produced those years... sad really.

Just my 2 cents

Fast1One 05-24-2005 12:04 AM

^^^Yes very sad....240s are becoming so rare now and kids keep recking them :ugh:

LA_phantom_240 05-24-2005 04:37 AM

its not that, people just didnt buy em so nissan didnt make em... ppl are stupid, they dont realize a great car when they see it

xXsilviaXx 06-01-2005 04:30 AM

i am going to be sad the day 240's are as rare as mclaren f1's and either have to be restored like an old muscle car or they are junkyard heaps stupid people not buying 240's pfff i think koukis were the best and they are the hardest to find because few were made compared to the coupes and hatch's

ramnailz 06-01-2005 06:37 AM

That could be true, but I see more 240's in the junk yard than in the street dude. Most of them are the FB's but thats a 180. There's plenty of people who sell 'em ib these forums, you just gotta look!

LA_phantom_240 06-01-2005 06:41 AM

Dude around here its jsut the opposite. Theres a lot of 240's... well not a lot, but more than i'd expect. But most are driven by poor rednecks from mississippi, or middle aged women who are with a poor redneck from mississippi. I cant find more then 4 240's at any one time in our local wreckin yards.

Yeah i live in MN as well and yes it sucks. If you ever do find a place to get an s14 tranny let me know, i need one too, mine grinds and it may be cheaper to find a junked one instead of getting it fixed!

Well 3000GT is a HUGE pile if crap. Thats why.

LA_phantom_240 06-24-2005 07:34 AM

the vr4 was pretty quick, but yeah mitsubishi does make crap. they fall apart, especially the interior. The interior is also butt ugly. did the twin turbo version ever hit the us? anyway, id rather have my 240 anyway.... or try to turbo my legend! omfg that would be one fast fwd if i could put a good turbo on there...ive only seen one 1st gen legend with a turbo... its really hard, but really quick

ummm....a 3000GT VR4 is a twin turbo. they can make power, but just like any mitsubishi AWD, the tranny will blow up and fall out. plus, they handle like a boat....they weigh like 10,000 lbs for christs sake

please stick to the thread topic

nsn240 06-24-2005 03:49 PM

Orginal topic: Yes, it would probably be hard to find, and if you found it... i've seen that most kouki (manual) are around 10g or more

Yea, they were just ruined, but the old (60's are fcking awesome) I thought the 3000gt TT's were pretty decent... maybe i was wrong :dunno:

LA_phantom_240 06-24-2005 04:51 PM

well this will be my last reply off topic, cuz i really dont want to have to start a new user name. yeah i would love to have an old 67 camaro... lol. I drove a 3000gt non turbo once, it felt heavier than a supra!

Anyways, yeah koukis are still as expensive as fck
