This is a pretty noob question i guess, but im very stumped.

I'm trying to put my vlsd from a silvia (5 bolt output shafts) into my 89 240sx. I have the 3rd member and half shafts, the driver side being shorter than the passenger side as it should be. Yet, when i bolted everything up and tightened down the hub bolts, the longer shaft ( passenger side ) popped out of the pumpkin. It was as though it was still roughly 1 " too short.

When comparing the 2 shafts the shorter shaft was about 1" shorter than the longer shaft. Meaning they weren't the same side shafts.

Is it supposed to be 2" longer? It seems like it would be obvious that the shaft was just the wrong shaft, but i dont think the guy i bought it from would make that mistake. If anyone has had this problem please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, if you have to express that vlsd suck and clutch is so much better please pick a different thread to state that in. No need for debate here. Thanks

Step 1: Pick up S15 HSLD
Step 2: Insrt directly to trash

intall done



and the HLSD is trash like the VLSD

 

So you bought internals not the whole pumpkin??
