Manual tranny Problems - S14

I finally got my 95 S14 on the road. Took it out for its first run and it appears that there is a problem. In 2nd thru 5th if I try to hop on it, the engine will rev high and it won't go anywhere. If let it accelerate gradually it is fine. Can someone please tell me if it is the tranny slipping or the synchros or what? I just had a new Exedy stage 1 clutch kit put in.

Sounds like the clutch is slipping to me. Did you resurface the flywheel? did u go easy on it the first couple hundred miles? has the flywheel been resurfaced more than once?

I had a shop put the clutch in. I don't think they cut the flywheel at all. I have only put about 50 miles on the new clutch. Thanks for the help. I will check it out.

Definite clutch slip and possible non-resurfaced flywheel.

I'd bring it back ASAP before you waste that new clutch disc... and while you're at it, find out if they changed the pilot bushing and throw-out bearing. Any reputable shop will always do that - including flywheel resurface/replace as well as proper clutch linkage adjustment.
