MY shifter shakes violently

Every time I reverse or take off in first myt shifter shakes violently side to side. I have a stage 3 clutch and solid tranny mount, is this normal, has this happen to any body else. What do I need to make it stop shaking?

the shifter shaking might be due to the solid tranny mount. i know solid engine mounts will cause a lot of shaking inside.

I thought the tranny mount contributes to a lot of vibrations, not violent shaking. ANy one else got any feedback. thanks jramosthe1st!

Motor mounts???

Might not be the entire transmission, it may just be the shifter . . .when's the last time you had your shifter bushings checked? The motor mounts would cause failure of your tranny mounts prematurely, however, you can check motor mounts with the rear wheels in the air, the car in gear and giving it the beans, if it looks like it wants to pop out of the side of the car, then yeah . . . . .LOL!

From what I heard, the shifter usually shkes side to side. Unless this is a serious violent shaking, then I would check the shifter bushings like Stig said just to check off all the easy stuff, then work your way under and check the others. Solid mount can also play a role in that fact since the vibrations can increase many other problems that were not noticable with the factory OE mounts (like the shifter shaking). But to be sure and be on the easy side of things, check the shifter bushings and linkage etc.
