orange trany pin infront to auto shifter?

orange trany pin infront to auto shifter?

i was woundering if anyone know what the orange pin infront of the shifter in a 92 nissan 240sx automatic does? and what happens if it is taken out?,. if anyone knowes that would be great!

i think is so you can take your car out of park while the ignition is off, but i have been known to be wrong...

no, you are correct. push down on the pin, and in on the main button, and you can put your tranny in what ever position without having to put in the key.
