Powerglide behind a SR20DET??
Anybody out there knows someone makes a adapter for a GM powerglide behind the SR20DET(600hp)?? Builting a 240SX drag racing project, using a Ford 9" and 10.5 slicks.

if its what he wants to do who cares why? it sounds like a very reliable way to get 600Hp to the ground. an SR trans isnt gonna hold up to that and they dont make many automatic tranny parts for draggin jap cars. I think there is a place called adaptech, and another called trans-dapt.

many use the z32 TT trans there is an adaptor plate out there for that

The 'glide is a great drag race transmission that can be built to hold 1200+ hp. It's also light, short, and (relatively) inexpensive for any given power level, and there are a ton of companies out there building parts for it.
Any competent race transmission shop should be able to make you a custom adaptor plate - I seriously doubt you'll find anything "off the shelf" for this, but it shouldn't be heart-stoppingly expensive to have someone make you a one-off piece. |

worse comes to worse you can have a machine shop (CNC not automotive) make you one bu tyou will need the details for them... and it will be expensive.
