Rear end options

Has anyone ever made, found, or seen a spool or air locker(like a 4wd)for the 240??? I think it would be sweet to have a locker so you could switch from open(while driving) to locked(solid) when drifting, ya know? any feedback will be great, prolly just have to get a lsd but looking at my options...

no he means a locking diff like off roaders use. It's open till you hit a switch then it either pneumatically or electrically locks the axles together. I was looking around for something like this too recently but i couldn't find anything useful. I was considering adapting something from a jeep, but im not sure how difficult it would be if it's even possible at all.

obviously you'll want to take the jeep diff. without the rest of the solid axle so you don't have to do custom suspension work. Maybe the jeep half shafts can be cut off and connections for 240 style half shafts can be welded in, then you could have a driveshaft shop make up a pair of halfshafts for you since the stock 240 halfshafts may not be the apropriate length.

see I was cooking up some ideas like that too but in the long run it would probably cost more and take longer and M
AY not even work so it would just be better to get the lsd and swap it in a day. would be neat if locker came ready to go tho....

well maybe you should call up some salvage yards and get one for uber cheap, seriously this would be a real original mod
