S14, 5 speeds top speed??

can someone tell me what the top speed on a turbo s14 5-speed is. i mean how far does 5th gear go?

Im asking this because i would like to buy an s14 and do a a/t to m/t swap and then turbo it... however, im not sure whether i should use a 5-speed from a s14 or go with a different tranny... (i wont be installing it myself...)

Thanx a lot guys, take care :)

Fast enough...Dont know exactly, but If you get rid of the speed limiter Im sure you can hit some high numbers

I am going to guess that the fuel cut-off is at about 110-120 MPH. Not sure why you want to know this, it makes no difference! Do an engine swap and get a defensor, the possibilites are endless....

i dont want to do an engine swap though, i want to get the greddy kit because its certified ( or in the process off) and later build up the engine for higher boost.

Does anyone know if the 240sx tranny without the limiter can go over 150mph?

I have heard of a 240 going 160+ but Why would you need to go that fast? Going for the fastest 240?

Well, given the stock tire size, the tranny's 5th gear ratio, the diff. ratio, you'll be doing 150 mph @ 6947 RPM. That is a little beyond the S14 KA's redline of 6500. However, I believe it should be ok, depending on the condition of the engine.

Keep in mind, the S13 has a redline of 6900 rpm....

Last I heard they ditched the certification part. But hey, you're in Chicago so smog laws might be tight there.

Lucky me, I live in good old CALIFORNIA
