shifting on jap trannys
ok i didnt know where to post this so i put it in general. im doing a sr20det swap sometime in the next few months but this just came up to my head and i dont think ever reading this. the engine is right hand drive is it al the same 1st to the left and 5th to the right or is it the other way around in right hand drive. so if i dot the swap i have to put 1st to the right and 5th to the left?

Nope, there's no difference in shifting except the shifter leans a little to the right (makes sense as this came out of a RHD car).
You'll be just fine. :D |
hes absolutely rights.
the shifting is the same. you will have hard time getting use to it, since you will use you left hand during the shiftin.. but you will be alrite after a while. |

everything is the same between left hand drive and right hand drive - the pedals are in the same order (clutch, brake, gas), the shift pattern is the same "right/up for 1st", and you still use the steering wheel to turn :p the only difference is, as stated above, the hand you shift with (if you're going to RHD)
BUT since you're not, don't worry about a thing. You'll still drive normal, just faster (after the swap :thumb: ) |
l2aine, you are 100% right, but you neglected to mention something... the signal and wiper arms are swapped on Right hand drive cars..
