Spec R LSD ???
 

Hey .... I bought A 2001 Spec R s15 front clip .... luckily the entire car came ... of course the shop parted everything out but my price included the LSD ... the swap was for my 95 s14 .... when it came time for the swap everything was sopposedly put in .... but when i started my car and drove it i had no speedometer ... i went back to the shop and the y told me "ohhh yea we forgot to tell you but the Imported S15 didnt bring any LSD" now for my question .... could that be true being that this is the Spec R version and from how the car looked it came with everything one would consider fully loaded. Are they lieying to me? They told me the LSD is and option ... I dont know because i cant seem to find anyone with the answer to this .... please help ..... also since im using my old LSD is there anyway to get my speed sensor to work so that i can have my damn Speedometer?!?!


PS: Does VVTI need a speed sensor .... my s15 dynoed at 159 hp and 170 tq .... wtf .... thats a ****ty GSR Integra!!! car only had 14000 miles!!!

All Spec-Rs came stock with a helical LSD. You need an S15 differential, driveshaft and speed sensor to get your speedometer to work because the S15 differential carrier contains the speed sensor and is different from S13s and S14s and requires a different drive shaft too. The shop is lying because any top of the line Silvia (K's, Spec-R) comes with an LSD be it Viscous for S13s and S14s and Helical for S15s. Hope this shines some light on your problem.

Sounds like that shop:

1.) Ripped you off big time.
2.) Did not know how to do an S15 swap.

You need the S15 diff and all the wiring etc. to the diff in order to have a speedo. And make sure the speed sensor is inside the diff... most shops take the speed sensor out and sell it to you that way to make more $. Good luck on finding a shop compitent enough to wire that setup for you too. This is a rare swap IMO, most people I know just do an S13 or S14 SR swap and call it a day.
