SR20 Tranny > KA24DE??

Does anyone know if a SR20 tranny will mate to a KA24DE? I read an article about a 240 and it said he had a turbo KA with a SR tranny. If so, would the SR tranny have a better gear ratio than the KA, or what would be the benefit? Any input on this would be helpful.

Both the SR20(S14 and S13)are the same as the KA(Internal wise). Change the bellhousing and it will mate right up. Is there a benefit to this? No

unless he's thinking 6-speed... but then again the 6-speed is fragile and major $$$$$

No...I was thinking the 5-speed. I just thought the SR tranny might have a better gear ratio for a turbo setup than the KA tranny. So on another note, will the NISMO 5th gear replacement work for the KA tranny???

And, don't forget, it won't work with the KA. The 6 speed has a 3 piece housing...
