Torque converter problems, maybe?
 

I need some "manly 240" advice. Does that sound gay?

A couple of months ago, my car would die or it would stutter after I started the car. My car was leaking oil pretty bad, but we fixed that problem soon after. Everything was cool for a week or two. Things are still ok. Every now and then though, the car will still do the stuttering or completely die after I start it. It will stay running if I give it some gas. Ya know?

I've had it die putting it in reverse some times. It even holds low RPM (under 500) when I'm in reverse or drive. Yet, it will do it less after it's warmed up. To be honest with you, I pretty much only drive my car to work/school. So, sometimes on Monday morning, this happens more then other days.

I feel like I'm rambling. Do you guys think this problem could be with the torque converter.. or something else?

it's a long shoot but are the post and terminal clean and making contact. a poorly grounded car will do that. there is a number of things that it could be but i like to start with the easy one first.

depending on the weather a bad dist. cap can cause those problems also.
look into that first.

They should be. We just put a new battery in a few weeks ago. I can recheck it again just to make sure.

Oh, also I don't want to confuse anyone. My car doesn't drive in low RPM all the time. Only after I start it and it wants to die or stutter. The car is fine any other time.

i can almost assure you that it's not your torque converter. i'm thinking something along the lines of poor ground, defective dist. cap, faulty tps, maybe even an injector beginning to die or ignition coil doing the same.

i think its electrical.
