i think they are but correct me if im wrong. the only thing different is that the 200sx and sentras with the sr's are converted to front wheel engines so they spin the front wheel's.before i got into the 240's like 4 years ago i was looking into 200sx with the sr's so i can just turbo it but didn't like there size and the front wheel drive so i moved up to the 240.

You cant swap a SR20DE into a 240sx, end of story. The only thing that is similar, I THINK, is the block and thats it. Everything else is meant for a FWD.

but is the sr20de from the u.s. the same as the j-spec but the u.s. version is fwd, i guess i mean are both made of cast iron and not allumium like the ka24de. I would also if possible turn the u.s. version into sr20de(t) thus producing more power than the stock ka at a cheaper price..

The US SR takes a lot of modification to fit into a 240sx chassis. The JDM and US SR is totally different

Are you trying to find out if u can swap an sr20de from a 200sx to a 240 it would cost a lot of money. You would be better getting the sr20de from the silvia then doing that.

as far as i know, KA's (along w/RB's and CA's) are iron blocks and the SR's are aluminum. where'd u get that from?

I thought that if your block was castiron then you were capable of boosting high than a aluminum block. iron strong, aluminum weak. so why is it that the ka block is boosted so low and the srdet's ar capable of boosting up to 18psi on the stock block and turbo. Is this due to the fact that the internals of the ka really suck that bad???? if not then why. I love toyota and my stock 93 3sgte was capable of 18psi, why does the ka has a bad rep with the boosting fans??

Because the engine just wasnt meant to take boost. The block might be able to take a good beating, but the head wont
