91 240sx sr20det swap

I have a 91 240sx that i did a sr20det swap in. All the wiring is complete i got the diagram off the internet. But for some reason only one of the coil packs will spark. and when take the coil pack that sparks and put it on the other wires it still dont spark. So im not to sure what the problem is. The swap has a 30 day warranty on so im trying to figure out what the problem is before the warranty is up. So if anyone knows anything that might help me out with this problem please let me know.
Thanks, ~nismo kid~

Maybe the other packs are bad/dead? If the one line works, then it should deliver current to the other coil packs.

sr swap trouble

The other coil packs work on the first wire the only one that works. So i know that they are still good, so that is why im unsure what the problem might be. I was kinda thinking that maybe there is a problem with the ecu.

i'm not the best with wiring, but what you need to determine is if the ecu is sending voltage out to fire the coil pack.

so.

step 01. determine which pins do what on the ecu.
step 02. determine which pins are associated with the ignition.
step 03. see which pin deals send the signal for the coil pack to fire. it may be 4 pins (one per cylinder).
step 04. check to see if the ecu is sending out voltage on that pin. you'd use a multimeter. if the ecu is sending out voltage, then your ecu is good.

now track the wire to see how it runs. check for continunity on each end of the wire. if you don't have continuity then you problem is in the wire, not the ecu.

it's annoying, but it's the only way to learn, and once you can do it, tracking down another similar problem will be much easier.

hih.

ps i'm not the best with wiring. i didn't answer your question directly, but that's a good way to troubleshoot your problem.

LOL I just realized that... if he doesnt know how to check wires and all that, its **** city for him... OOOOOH man LOL

thanks i will try that to see if its the ecu or not or a wire. i will get back to you when i finish and let you know what i come up with. thanks again

no volts from ecu

Well I checked the wires at the ecu for the coil packs, and there was no power on any of them except on the one that sparks, but that one only has like .20 volts at the ecu. So im kinda thinking that it might be the ecu.

check the wires on the harness too to make sure they are working properly. bad stuff at the ecu and the wires in the harness working properly will prove the ecu is the problem.
