95-98 Ka24de

Can a 95-98 KA24DE fit into a '93 240 with no problem? does it juss bolt right up? and wheres the cheapest place where i can get one for down in So. Cal?

There are a few differences between the two, but I don't know them all off hand. I think there are a few sensors that you will have to switch to use a later motor with an S13 harness.

I also think you have to retain the S13 distributor.

I had all the info somewhere... oh yeah, on my hard drive that crashed... :(

here's a silly question...why would you want to swap a ka24de for a ka24de?

agressiveracing 09-26-2002 05:51 AM

if u are broke and ur engine just dies..
swapping a de into a de isnt that bad..
it would be a bolt in affair.

Bigunitsnake2 09-26-2002 06:12 AM

yea i dont know when or if the motor was odb1. But if its a odb2 engine going into a odb1 wirering is a little different which might cause some problems

Yeah the 95 and up were obII i think and they are some differences I think the bolt pattern for the exhaust manifold are different (reason that the Greddy header is only available for 95-98) and so you might want to also look into those factors.

Justin.b 09-26-2002 06:26 AM

Exhaust bolt pattern is the same - there are other body-related considerations that make the headers different. I think the main consideration for this is the EGR tube.

I know that Don @ pdm racing fit an S14 header into hi S13, so they are probably not TOO far off.

why not just find a 94+ ka motor..
it would be much simpler..
and i think they should be everywhere..
considering alot of ppl are swapping now adays

Driftin180SX 09-27-2002 04:51 PM

the problem is is dat i dun want a KA24DE engine with alot of miles on it. Cuz i got about 200k miles on mine right now, and im lookin for a motor with around 60k miles on it.

battlestylespl 09-28-2002 12:22 AM

or you could rebuild it and it would have 0K miles on it.

True, but also there is a lot of down time when you start rebuilding your motor. So in his case it just might be simplier if he just swaps it out and a lot faster I think.

agressiveracing 10-01-2002 05:44 AM

well he can have my engine while he rebuilds his..
for a small price of course
=)
