96 240sx

Ok,
Need some help from all you Nissan Fanatics. Since I own a 93 Rx7, I don't know the slightest thing about the S13/14s. My brother has a 96 240sx. It needs a new engine, so I plan on doing a swap for him, since I've always been impressed with the sr20deT. I need to know which specific engine I should go with, I'm talking easy drop in, with minor fabrication requirements.

Here are the requirements/questions:
1 - Requirement - Must be FWD, do to the fact we live in MN, and he'll be driving it in the snow.

2 - Question - Is the Bluebird the engine to go with, since I need FWD, and is that an easy drop in?

3 - Requirement - It needs to be an Automatic

Thats about it......please help. I want to make my 16 year old brother's car the second nicest in town.

-So which engine?
Which JDM model car would this be?
-How easy is this swap going to be, 1-10 rating, 1 being my mom could do it, 10 being call God?
If I purchase a full front clip on the engine donor car, and choped his car, how hard would it be to keep the steering on the left side?

Any and all help would be great.

thanks for your time

ummm...well, simply droppin in an sr20 isnt all that hard...

BUT...it is very difficult and rare to get front wheel drive...

it is even harder to find one with an auto tranny...

there is no easy drop in for FWD into a 240...it just wasnt made for FWD, fabrication would be abundant and mandatory...

on a scale from 1-10(with the absolute hardest being a 10)

i give it an 8 or 9...

Ahem. The 240 is FR. If you want a FWD get a Skyline, WRX or a Lancer Evo

A land of FWD 240's and Skylines, its like an episode of the twilight zone, except ten times more scary Never let it be so

seriously though, If it has to meet the FWD requirement, I don't think a 240 is the car for your brother. Maybe look into doing something that is FWD SR20 Compatable.

sell it and get a 200sx if you want front wheel drive, 240's are all rwd, the beauty of rwd, heh. the SR20's are a direct fit, they use the same engine mounts as the KA. I've never seen an automatic sr20, so I think it's time he needs to learn to drive a stick, better to drive in the snow anyways! If an automatic is a must, why not rebuild the KA? Won't be as much hp, but you can build it and maybe go KAT, that would be custom. Search CA18DET and see if they make than in an automatic.

Unless you're willing to budge on thise requirements, then I suggest you'd sell the car and look for a automatic front wheel drive car, heh.
