I am new to this board. I have searched but couldn't get the answer i was looking for.

my questions are regarding the swap oviously.

In NY, how much should I look to spend for the the just engine and the tranny swap(mounted) [i can carry on the rest myself].

Where in NY can i get this done?

When i buy the engine and tranny from ebay should i be worried about any internal problems. Example, Should i be carbon build up around the valves and/or on the pistons. What action should I if assumed that there are carbon build up?

I'll post more on this thread if i have question.

hey my friend is doing my swap he has a turbo shop and his friends have a machine shop next door (how convinient) they are in long island im in queens teir doing my sr20det/5speed swap if u want prices ull have to talk to them =\ go to www.anykindofturbo.com thats teir website theyll preety much drop everyting you go in driving u leave driving so they get your stuff working right.

by the way you will not be able to pass emmisions after you do the swap, not in NY anyway.

 

Yeah if you do the swap in the city, it will not pass emissions...

Up here in Albany county there is a safety check and they scan the CEU for OBD2 cars, but no actual sniffer.

 

where on LI are you. Id be more then happy to help providing you cover the tolls it costs me to get out there, food, and I can get ahold of an engine hoist.

Yea, thanks guys, i'm not really worried about the emmission. if they have sniffer then i'm just gonna bold on a strong catalytic converter or else i have other ways.

all i can say is jon's the man, he's doing my swop for me. but i can speak from experience pay the money for a good motor i lost 4000 from one company cause i was getting a crazy deal for a front clip with everything i needed, end of story never got it and im sueing them now
