Budget Vs time?

This is my dilema: I'm saving up to buy a RB25det for my 93 240sx and I've been saving up for a long time, I can't even buy myself some burgers in chekers. I got 1K$ and I don't know how much is going to cost me to do that swap for the RB25. I went to some dude who worked in a garage were they did swaps and he had a 240 with a sr20 in it and he said he would do it for 3K. Now thats really good, but I'm a litle concerned because thats reall cheap for that engine, plus labor and what not. So I live in orlando and I wana know were can I buy the cheapest RB25 so that I can install it myself. Yes I'm very confident about my mechanical skills. Now I also got college up my ass and it takes up some money. My dad says I can finish college in 2010 and then get my car all hokked up,. But that would be like working on a 17yr old car!. It aint the same. So whats your opinion? how much money should I spend in the cheapest way posible of getting it? Should I hook it up in 2010? (if it still runs, or I don't crash it by then) Should I spend the money on college stuff like a computer and crap?

Stupid low budget........

Cheap is not good, cheap will usually get you a poor quality engine or maybe if you really mess up nothing at all. Cheap isn't good when your "cheap engine" needs rebuilding and $2500 worth of japan only parts. I wouldn't bother with a swap right now. Finish school and do the swap when you when you have the money. Sorry to crap on your cake but it's real hard to do anything as a student, I drove a Honda DX until I started working.

Yeah, cheap isin't always good. I bought those 80$ coilovers in ebay, and they never got my car any lower. And they suck, I cant make them stiferr, they rotate on their own when I steer and they are always loose, and the litle allen bolts striped when I thighten them. But 2fast4you gave me hope, And don't worry, the shop who's doing the swap is like the local swaping place arround here. I think they are called speedzone. But I would really like if I could get a RB25 in my house and I would install it, I know I can. But evry place arround is so expensive. The only people I have found that can sell me a good thing and is the real deal are Jspecautosports.com and the Mcklency people do prety much everything I need. So I'll see what happends.
